Some recycling facts: Paper recycling is
picked up every two weeks on Wednesdays but is picked up only from the white
and orange bags in Room 116 and Room 227, not from the little recycling
boxes left in some of the rooms. Those little boxes need to be emptied
into the bags. Paper for recycling from any other other room in the building
needs to be brought to one of those two rooms to get picked up. White paper
(without labels or tape) goes in the white bags and mixed paper (white paper
with labels or tape, colored paper, file folders, envelopes, junk mail,
cardstock, newspaper, magazines, books, phonebooks, and copy paper wrappers)
needs to go in the orange bags.
Paper towels, napkins, cups and plates are
not recycled at OSU. In order to avoid making mistakes, the recycle people
will not pick up anything that is not clearly marked for recycling.....sacks
and boxes of paper will not be picked up even if they are set down next to
the bags. They will be picked up if they are clearly labeled "For
Recycling."
Cans and bottles can be recycled in the green recycle bin
outside by the telephone booth to the south of Gilmore Hall on the east side
of the building.
Cardboard can be flattened and taken to the cardboard
recycling cage located next to the parking lot on the south side of Gilmore
Hall.
